While discovering mushrooms in your lawn can be a frustrating thing, they’re presence is actually the sign of a good thing, but it’s a problem that can be easily taken care of.

The mushrooms in your yard are actually indicative of a healthy lawn with plenty of organic material in the soil. They are the reproductive part of fungi that have established themselves and are thriving in the soil.
Usually, the fungi remain hidden as they feast on decaying organic material. And there’s lots of decaying organic material in the average yard, including old branch, animal waste, old grass clippings, mulch, etc.
This is actually a good thing as the fungi help in decomposing and recycling organic material that would otherwise accumulate.
When conditions are moist and cool, the seed-filed mushroom will flower so that its spores will be carried by the wind.
